We are seeking a proactive, business-oriented Legal Counsel. In this role you will support the Group Legal Director in ensuring the lawful operation of AutoWallis and its subsidiaries. The role includes providing legal advice, coordinating regulatory and compliance matters, preparing and reviewing contracts, and assisting in corporate governance tasks with special focus in M&A transactions (including deal execution, due diligence, competition authority clearance and post-transaction integration tasks). We are looking for a real doer who is able to make things happen.

The position can be filled both as an employee and as a contractor. 

What will be your roles and responsibilities?

• Provide comprehensive legal support to the holding and subsidiaries, aligning legal risk management with business objectives and group-level strategy
• Proactively identify and manage legal risks, supporting strategic decision-making from a legal and compliance perspective
• Lead and coordinate end-to-end legal support for domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiation of transaction documents (SPA/APA, shareholders’ agreements), regulatory clearances and post-closing integration
• Draft, review and coordinate contracts and corporate documentation; manage company law matters and governance processes across the Group
• Support capital market reporting and handle regulatory and authority matters
• Act as a trusted legal partner to internal stakeholders; coordinate external legal advisors, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality delivery, and contribute to legal budgeting and knowledge sharing across the organization

You are the ideal candidate if you have:

• Master’s degree in Law (undivided program) from a Hungarian or other Europe-based law school
• 3–5 years of relevant legal experience
• Proven track record in supporting or leading M&A transactions, ideally in cross-border settings
• Fluent English and Hungarian (written and spoken); additional CEE language knowledge is an advantage
• Structured, process-oriented and business-minded approach
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• High level of independence, ownership and confidentiality
• Confident user of MS 365; familiarity with Wolters Kluwer (WK) and Microsec
